Interment was in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. Henry Petersen died last Friday morning and the community was shocked to learn the news. Henry Petersen died last Friday morning and the community was shocked to learn the news. Mr. Petersen was a loving husband and son, genial, witty and an upstanding citizen. Henry Lorenz Petersen, the eldest son of Lorenz and Wilhelmina (Suckstorf) Petersen, was born August 31, 1882, in Otter Creek township of Crawford County, Iowa. He remained on the farm with his parents until 1920, when they moved to Schleswig. He was engaged in the real estate and live stock business for a number of years and was well known thoughtout the entire county. On March 16, 1921, he was united in marriage to Loretta Schmidt in Omaha, Neb., and they began farming on the home farm north of Schleswig. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Loretta; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Petersen of Schleswig; one brother, John Petersen of Schleswig; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Emma) Burk and Mrs. Alex (Amelia) Miller, both of Schleswig, Mrs. Fred (Ella) Petersen of Arthur and Mrs. Herbert (Lille) Bendixen of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; and other relations and friends.
