Description	:	Henry Christensen was born to Chris and Inger Christensen, who both immigrated from Denmark to Illinois where they married in 1891 and started their family. Henry's parents eventually settled in Council Bluffs with their young children; Johanna (O'Neill), Paul, Henry, Walter (of California), Nels (who died at 2 years) and Edna (Bascom-Devol). Read More	Henry Christensen was born to Chris and Inger Christensen, who both immigrated from Denmark to Illinois where they married in 1891 and started their family. Henry's parents eventually settled in Council Bluffs with their young children; Johanna (O'Neill), Paul, Henry, Walter (of California), Nels (who died at 2 years) and Edna (Bascom-Devol). Henry met Mary Vosler when she was only 15 years and they were married September 2, 1919 in Sarpy County, Nebraska, as they had fallen in love. Henry thought she was more than fifteen as Mary dressed like many of the older ladies, where she was worked at the Famous Woodward Candy Factory of Council Bluffs. Henry may have been working there also or he was staying at the Danish boarding hall across the street. While they were married, Henry left Mary for a time, after the birth of their two daughters because he felt trapped by the marriage. They eventually became parents of three children but Henry completely deserted his young wife Mary in 1925 and by 1926 they were divorced. Henry met Meta( Schulz) Boardman in the 1930,'s and she was also divorced and had six children. Together they blended her children with the children they had together; BettyLou (Swanger) and Paul C. Christensen. Henry learned to be a good father and husband. It was very sad that Henry never really knew his first three children for he would have been proud of them.
