Description	:	Mary Vosler Goehring was a strong and independent woman who gave love and support to all. She was the rock her family leaned on from when her father, Darwin Clayton Vosler was killed while walking thru a train yard to meet his wife and young daughters, to when her husband Grant was bedridden with emphysema. She was the rock her family leaned on from when her father, Darwin Clayton Vosler was killed while walking thru a train yard to meet his wife and young daughters, to when her husband Grant was bedridden with emphysema. Mary began working at a young age, first at the famous Woodward Candy Factory in Council Bluffs, where she met her first husband Henry Christensen when Mary was only 15 years. Henry and she were married in the fall of 1919 at Papillion, Nebraska. In 1925, he deserted her and their three small children. Before marrying Grant Goehring on December 31, 1927, Mary worked in a laundry and as a housekeeper. During World War II, she worked as a coach cleaner for Union Pacific R.R. Her many talents included crocheting, taking photos of her cherished grandchildren and then learning how to develop the film. Raising parakeets to sell was a successful business and in between did ironing for her mother and daughter which led to a heart attack. Mary loved to tend the flowers in her garden, especially roses and lilacs. She was a very remarkable lady who had a wisdom beyond her years. Grandma Mary wore herself out because she took care of others instead of herself.
