She passed away at the Beloit Community Hospital, January 3, 1963, at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 29 days. When a small child she came to Kansas with her parents, traveling by ox-cart, and lived on a farm in Lyon township. The rest of her life was spent in the Glasco community. Mrs. Studt attended school at Harmony and also attended State Normal School st Emporia. She was one of Cloud county's early pioneer teachers and successfully taught for 5 1/2 years. After the death of her first husband, Ernest Converse, she made her home with an uncle, Iver B. Halderson, for several years. She was united in marriage with J.W. Studt, June 14, 1905, who preceded her in death January 13, 1932. To this union three children were born. She is survived by a son, Charles, Glasco; a daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Ida) Shaffer, Simpson; a step-son, Roy, Oroville, Calif.; eleven grandchildren, and other friends and relatives. A daughter, Mrs. James (Esther) Butler passed away in 1948. Mrs. Studt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Her daily life was guided by her Christian faith, always remembering the needs of others. Mrs. Studt shared her home with many, including her mother and sister, Cora, until their deaths. In recent years a granddaughter, Georgina Butler, has lived with her. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 5, 1963, from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Paul Rowoldt officiating. Singers were Virginia Halderson and Bernice Harper. Organist was Ota Studt. Pallbearers were Paul Halderson, Orval Halderson, Roy Halderson, Don Studt, Max martin, and Noble Spicher. Burial was in the Glasco cemetery with the Dean Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
