She was born on July 16, 1913, at Waterville, Wash.,, to Louis B. and Imogene Yowell Garnant. Imogene married Norman E. Blair at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Wenatchee, Wash., on Dec. 11, 1935. They first lived in Manson followed by their years in Chelan. Imogene moved to Chelan in 1929 and graduated from Chelan High School in 1931 where she was a Yell Queen. Blair, 97, of Chelan, Wash., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Lake Chelan Community Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1913, at Waterville, Wash.,, to Louis B. and Imogene Yowell Garnant. Imogene married Norman E. Blair at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Wenatchee, Wash., on Dec. 11, 1935. They first lived in Manson followed by their years in Chelan. Imogene moved to Chelan in 1929 and graduated from Chelan High School in 1931 where she was a Yell Queen. She packed apples, was a local correspondent for the Wenatchee World, and retired from the Chelan Post Office. Then Imie and Norm traveled across the U.S. including Alaska. They wintered in Yuma, Ariz., for many years with Chelan/Manson friends. In Yuma, they did volunteer hospital work. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Imogene was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, a Red Cross volunteer for blood drives, and a longtime blood donor. Imogene is survived by granddaughter Desiree D. Blair and great-grandson Khye of Chelan. She was loved and admired by numerous nieces and nephews as the strong and loving last family member of her generation. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman in 1998, daughter Norene E. Blair and son Danny R. Blair in 2010, infant brother Eugene, brothers Jefferson and Gail Garnant, and sister Betty Lou Blankenship. A memorial service and internment in Chelan will take place at a later date to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Chelan. Services have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
