Boop was born in East Springfield, Jefferson County, Ohio, June 7, 1868, and departed this life February 19, 1933, at the home of his sister in Cleveland, where he had lived for thirty-seven years. His boyhood days were spent at Harlem Springs. When a young man he went to Cleveland and engaged in business there. His many fine qualities of heart and mind endeared him to his many friends both here and in Cleveland. Here his many friends remember him as a school boy and a fine young man. In Cleveland as a good citizen, a true neighbor and friend, and to his sister a faithful brother. In the wade Park M. E. Church he was a faithful and interested worshiper. His religion stood the test of daily living and he was well liked by his fellowmen. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Talbot and his brother, Frank both of Cleveland and many relatives and friends. His funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Priestly, assisted by Dr. DeBow of the First M. E. Church. He was brought to the home of Ed McGuire at Harlem Springs where a short service was conducted by Rev. Charles Edgar, pastor of the M. E. Church here. He was buried in the Harlem Springs Cemetery beside his father, mother and brother.
