Description	:	James Martin Synamon/Cinnamon, parents were Marcus C. Cinnamon 1848 an Elizabeth Cinnamon. They were living in Mount Vernon, Rockcastle, Kentucky, confirmed by the 1870 census. He had siblings, who were; Mary A Cinnamon 10; William F Cinnamon 7; Elizabeth J Cinnamon 4, The 1880 census shows a different picture. Some time during the next 10 years Marcus wife, Elizabeth must have died or he divorced her. Marcus was, married to Melinda A., and there was a daughter Nancy J, born 1872. It is not sure if she is Elizabeth or Melinda's daughter. The other 3 children are no longer at home, and James is still in the household. It is not certain whether James went to Tennessee with the family or he went alone. James Martin Synamon, ask for Lucinda's hand in marriage, and the Tennessee State Marriages Records confirm that they were married on Oct. 19 1892. Lu presented Jim with 11 children: Henry Synamon 1894; Edward Synamon 1896; Lillie Mae Synamon 1898; Greeley Synamon 1900; Mary Synamon 1903; William Synamon 1905; Howard Synamon 1908; Analee Synamon 1910; Cecil Synamon 1912; Eunice Synamon 1915; Hugh Kyle Synamon 1917. The 1910 census related that Lucinda and Jim owned their home and farm free from a mortgage, in the Civil District 2, Hawkins, Tennessee, and that Lucinda had been married 17 years and had given birth to 8 children and they were all living. When the 1920 census was taken the United States was in the midst of the Great Depression and the census revealed some big changes in the Synamon family. It was difficult to make ends meet. They still owned the farm, but found it necessary to take out a mortgage. His mother-in-law, Elizabeth Jane Buchanan, was living with them. Jim had found employment and was working away from home as farm laborer. His son, Greeley, also had a job for wages as a farm laborer. William 15, and Howard 12, was doing farm labor on the home farm. Probably Lula and the girls were also helping with chores. On Sept. 26, 1926 The Lord called grandma Elizabeth home. It was a sad day for all of the family. They had to prepare for her funeral. Her grave was reserved next to grandpa and they would gather at the Quarryville Cemetery to bid farewell to a beloved mother, grandma and friend. In the 1930 census The family was living on Stubblefield Road, in Rural Morrisburg. Jim was still farming on rented land. Lula had found employment as a nurse for a private family. William was working out as a farm laborer. and George was a laborer on the State Highway. According James death certificate, Jim went the doctor on March 10, 1942, and 7 days later at 12:45 pm he past away. The cause of death is illegible. James's body was taken to Harrison Funeral Home in Rogersville, to be prepared for burial.
