Description	:	Jess Oren Farver, one of seven children of Otto and Mary Alice Baker Farver, was born May 23, 1913, on a farm six miles southwest of Nelson. He passed away January 9, 1980, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 18 days. He was educated in the Nelson schools. He was preceded in death by his... Read More	Jess Oren Farver, one of seven children of Otto and Mary Alice Baker Farver, was born May 23, 1913, on a farm six miles southwest of Nelson. He passed away January 9, 1980, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 18 days. He was educated in the Nelson schools. The early part of his life he farmed, then later he worked for the railroad and as a construction worker. At the time of his death, Jess was caretaker at the Nelson city park. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl. Jess was a wonderful, devoted brother and will be greatly missed by his family and his many many friends. Surviving are three brothers, Elbert and Ora, both of Nelson, and Oliver of Cozad; two sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Margaret) Reed of Nelson and Mrs. Orville (Opal) Stahl, both of Nelson; 12 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, January 11, 1980, at 10 a.m. at the Klawitter Funeral Home Chapel in Nelson. The Rev. Ralph Tillery officiated and burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Ed Grove, Frank Korbelik, Bill Morehead Sr., Robert Myers, R.L. Culbertson and Russ Snyder. "How Great Thou Art" and "Lord, I'm Coming Home" were sung by Joe Ferebee with Dot Ferebee as organist. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 17, 1980; pg. 4
