Services will be today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. in Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel at Nelson with burial in the Nelson Cemetery. Dr. Paul Samuelson will officiate. Mr. Farver was born November 11, 1911, on a farm northwest of Nelson. He lived his entire life in the Nelson area, where he was caretaker of the cemetery. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, May 1, 1986; pg. 10 ============================== Ora Arthur Farver, son of Otto Farver and Mary Alice Baker Farver, was born southwest of Nelson, Nebraska, on November 11, 1911, and departed this life on April 29, 1986, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 74 years. He had lived his entire life in the Nelson community and was educated in the Nelson schools. Ora served his country in the military police of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion for 39 years. It will be hard to replace Ora as caretaker of the Nelson Cemetery, a position he had so ably held for a number of years. Those preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers Earl Farver and Jess Farver. The survivors include two brothers, Elbert Farver and his wife Leota of Nelson, and Oliver (Pete) Farver and his wife Frances of Cozad, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Orville (Opal) Stahl and husband of Nelson, and Mrs. Leslie (Margaret) Reed and husband of Nelson; twelve nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss him. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 1, 1986, at 10:30 a.m. at the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Nelson with Dr. Paul Samuelson officiating. Soloist Joe Ferebee sang "Lord I'm Coming Home" and "Precious Memories" with Dot Ferebee as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were: Dennis Hurt, Russ Snyder, Bill Morehead, R.L. Culbertson, Virgil Schleif and Arlan Drudik. Honorary casketbearers were: Dan Hill, Gordon Meyer, Jim Bargen, Ellis Garrison, Clem Reeve, Frank Korbelik and Lee Williams. Military rites were given by the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Nelson, Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements.
