Rogers, who passed away last Wednesday in the Wichita Hospital were held here Friday afternoon at the Christian Church, conducted by Rev. R.R. Kaiser. Interment was in Glasco Cemetery. Jesse E. Rogers was born at the old Rogers' home two and one-half miles northeast of Glasco, February 9, 1885. He spent his boyhood days and grew to manhood, and with the exception of two years residence in Saline County, spent his entire life in this community. He was united in marriage with Miss Anna Pinkall, August 26, 1908. To this union were born three children, Aline, Robert and Gene all of the same address. The companion and mother died on October 17, 1921. Her passing added most greatly to the responsibilities of the father with the three small children, on an infant. An aged mother's never tired hands assisted in the management of the home until Aline grew able to assume the responsibility. As a united family with his guidance they fought a good fight, and most assuredly have kept the faith. His last months of illness were a repetition of his determination through almost a half century, sure to win, and be able to return to the home again. He was patient in long suffering, kind and cheerful to those who administered unto him, and ended this life in the Southwestern Osteopathic Hospital, Wichita, Kansas, April 19, 1933, at the age of 48 years, 2 months and 10 days. His was an outstanding character, whose honor and integrity were above reproach, and his entire life one of sacrifice. His greatest accumulation was his multitude of friends, the deposit of kind deeds and neighborly acts that have accumulated through his life, have added to the resources of the Bank of Father Time and will be paid in dividends to those who follow. His life work is a lasting monument, and it is tabulated, the testimony of his citizenship. he rests in peace. Besides his children, he leaves to mourn their loss four brothers and three sisters, Oren, Laban, and Mrs. Ed Ott of the home address; Mrs. A.B. Doty of Delphos, Mrs. B.H. Ohde of St. Paul, Minnesota; John of Wichita, and Charles of Los Angeles, and a community of others, relatives and friends.
