Description	:	Lawrence Casper Vorderstrasse son of William Vorderstrasse and Sena Hofts Vorderstrasse, was born in Thayer County, Nebraska on Oct. 13, 1910. He passed away at his home near Hebron, in Thayer County, Nebraska on Saturday, Aug. 9, 1969, at the age of 58 years, nine months and 27 days. He lived on the home place all his life, where he was engaged in farming. On January 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Erma Vera Essman in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lincoln. To their union a son and daughter were born. He was baptized Oct. 30, 1910 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deshler and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Stoddard on March 28, 1926. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Hebron and the Brotherhood of Grace Congregation, also past treasurer of St. Paul's Church. He had served as a member of the School Board, was a member of the Community Club of Chester, the Livestock Feeders Assn., and the Blue Valley Quality Pork Assn. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Erma; his son, Duane; daughter, Beverly; five brothers, John, Art and Alvin, all of Chester; William of Enid, Okla., and Clarence of Hebron; five sisters Mrs. Otto Pohlmann of Deshler; Ida Vorderstrasse of Chester; Mrs. E.H. Holtzen of Enid, Okla.; Mrs. Art Fintel of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mrs. Alvin Meyer of Hebron a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron on Monday, Aug. 11, 1969 at 2 p.m. with Pastor John Minneman officiating. Pallbearers included Richard Fangmeyer, Clarence Grafelman, Herman Pohlmann, Ed Pohlmann, John Levendofsky and Cornelius Wiedel. Interment was in the Chester Public Cemetery. The Montgomery-Tibbets-Cotter Mortuary of Hebron was in charge of funeral arrangements.
