K. Phillips, Louise avenue, with whom she had resided for a number of years. She was 77 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from the daughter's home, conducted by Rev. T. D. Edwards, the body being taken to her former home in Defiance for burial Saturday morning. Mrs. Nicely, a daughter of Bazileel and Margaret Moore, was born in Tuscarawas county and grew to young womanhood there, being united in marriage to Aaron Nicely, of Defiance in 1865, soon after the close of the Civil war. She was among the first settlers of Defiance county and until the death of Mr. Nicely in 1916, they resided in a home there which had been hewed from the virgin forest soon after their marriage. Mrs Nicely was the mother of eight children, three of whom, Mrs. L. B. McCollister, C. A. Nicely, and Mrs. I.K. Phillips, all of Bellevue, and one brother, Bazileel Moore, of Stryker, with many friends, are survivors. Mrs. Nicely was a christian woman, whose chief concern was her home and administration to those within her immediate family circles, but who also gave generously of her time and talents to church and other activities, having been an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Defiance during the entire time of her life there. Her last expression as death's approach became apparent informed loving watchers of her readiness to go.
