She will be remembered as a remarkably dedicated self-sacrificing, provider and supporter of both her parent's family and her own family throughout her life. Born Dec. 15, 1904 in Medina, N.D., to John and Mary Lamach, she was the third-born in a very large family. After living at various locations in North Dakota and Minnesota, the family moved to Montana in 1913. In 1917 her Dad took up a homestead on Wild Cat Creek. Margaret graduated from SGHS in 1928, then she entered two-year normal school training in Billings. She taught school in the county for four years. She married Emil Drivdahl Feb. 10, 1934. The couple began ranching and together raised a family of five on ranches in Sweet Grass County. She lived on the ranches for more than 60 years before entering the Pioneer Home several years ago. Margaret is survived by her sister, Laura Steele of Corvallis, Mont.; five children, David Drivdahl (Marcella) of Walla Walla, Wash., Teresa Ridgeway (Hallas) of Chaplin, Conn., Emil Drivdahl Jr. (Sharon) of Kent, Wash., John Drivdahl (Sylvia) of Big Timber, and Martin Drivdahl (Suzanne) of Helena; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil (in 1983); 12 brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 6 at the First Congregational Church in Big Timber. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery.
