Married Lawrence Samuel Ryan 9/10/ 1912. They had 3 sons, Lawrence Samuel Ryan Jr., Robert Donald Ryan and Gerald Eugene Ryan. Florence died 7/10/ 1971 and both she and her husband are buried in West Grove, Iowa. " ---------------- Two nearly identical obituaries were published in the Fairfield Daily Ledger - one on Monday, Feb. 16, 1931, the other on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1931. It appears that the intent for publishing the obituary on the 18th was to make certain corrections to the one on the 16th, but in doing so introduced some errors of its' own. Sigh. They are transcribed below as close to verbatim as possible so that family researchers can see how some discrepancies can occur in obituaries that are published, and how punctuation can alter the meanings of certain texts: Fairfield Daily Ledger Monday, Feb. 16, 1931 Pg. 2 Col 3 OBITUARY Mrs. J. F. Paramore Mrs. Maggie Paramore of Bloomfield, Iowa died at the hoe of her daughter, Mrs. D. S. Allen, 702 Glenwood Ave., Ottumwas at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 1931 at the age of 64 years, and five months. She was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Ream Smith and was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, September 8, 1866. When a child she moved with her parents to Fairfield, Iowa where she grew to womanhood, and where the early years of her married life were spent. On December 21, 1887 she was married to J. F. Paramore who died May 8, 1908 soon after they came to Bloomfield to make their home. Two daughters came to bless this union; Margaret Marie and Grace. She was also preceded in death by her father, mother, threes sisters and four brothers. Surviving are the two daughters, Mrs. D. S. Allen of Ottumwa and Mrs. L. S. Ryan of Dean, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Cora Ellyson, Pleasant Plain, Iowa and sone (sic) brother Samuel Smith, Caldwell, Idaho. One granddaughter Madeline Allen and three gransons (sic), Lawrence Jr., Donald and Gerald Ryan whom she tenderly loved. Mrs. Paramore was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church of Bloomfield and when her health permitted was always present at divine services. She will be sadly missed by her family, her friends and her neighbors whom she was always ready to serve and who loved her for her many sterling qualities. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen, conducted by their astor (sic) Rev. Roy C. Leeds of the Davis St. Christian church, Ottumwa.
