Mary was born January 23, 1924, in Wells, Minnesota, the daughter of Casper and Mary Jacob Desch. Mary married John Parry on January 23, 1947, in Topeka; he preceded her in death on December 20, 1997. She attended Topeka schools and graduated from Seaman High School. She was employed at Santa Fe Railroad as Superintendent of Car Services in Topeka and New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. Mary was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle #503 Nocturnal Adoration and volunteered at Lets Help. Mary is survived by her daughter, Coleen Qualls of Thrall, Texas; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; brother, Raymond Desch of San Antonio, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Street, Topeka KS 66614 where the Daughters of Isabella will lead the rosary at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, Midland Care Hospice or Christ the King Church, sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
