Hart, who was Uncle Tommy to everyone on Kentucky Ridge. She was united in marriage with Robert M. Stewart, one of the best men of which the county ever boasted, on June 16, 1872, and went to housekeeping in a log cabin on Walnut Creek, and this county has been her home for more than 64 years. At the time of her decease, she was aged 77 years, 10 months, and 22 days. She passed to her eternal reward March 5, at Hollywood, near Los Angeles, Calif., whither she had gone with her daughters, Anna and Martha, to spend the winter and avoid the rigorous Kansas climate. Five children were the result of this union, four of whom, Anna, Martha, Samuel B., and Robert M., survive to mourn the loss of an affectionate mother and faithful companion, Mr. Stewart having passed on Nov. 6, 1916. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart resided on a farm until 1890, when they moved to Padonia, where Mr. Stewart engaged in the grain business. They continued at Padonia until the year 1892, when they moved to Reserve, and that was her home at the time of her death. The all devouring scythe of time has been very active in the Hart family during the last few years, and soon this old time honored and highly esteemed family will live only in the memory of deeds well done, three brothers, Harvey W., Thomas J., And Perry F. Hart, having passed to their reward in the last few years. Mrs. Stewart was the mother of an exceptional family, and it was her pleasure to see her sons take their place in the business and social life of the community and achieve that success of which every parent is proud. The daughters, Anna and Martha, are the best loved young women in the vicinity of Reserve, and it's all because they have devoted their lives to care and comfort of their father and mother. The hearts of all our people go out to the grief stricken children. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her two daughters, Anna and Martha, and her son, Robert, who makes his home at Hollywood, at whose home she closed her eyes for the last time. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery by the side of her late husband, but the time cannot be stated as it is not known when the remains will arrive from California. The body will be accompanied to Reserve by her two daughters and son Robert. F.M.P."
