Married Katherine Welter. --------------------- EARLY STANTON RESIDENT DIES -- Michael Keenan, a resident of Stanton township all his life, died at St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City August 21. Mr. Keenan had been in poor health for some time. He was 62 years of age and was born in Jackson county, November 12, 1869. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Keenan, came to Le Mars with a large family of children in the seventies and located in Stanton township where members of the family have engaged in farming ever since. Michael Keenan attended country school and assisted with the work of the farm at home and later engaged in farming for himself. He was married to Katherine Welter, who with one child, preceded him in death many years ago. He leaves two sons, Alfred P. Keenan and Francis J. Keenan, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Hughes and Mrs. Alice Dunn, of this vicinity. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph church in Lincoln township and interment made in St. Joseph cemetery. August 23, 1932. --------------------- MICHAEL KEENAN GOES TO REWARD -- Michael Keenan, 62, longtime resident of Stanton township, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City Sunday, August 21, 1932. Mr. Keenan had been in poor health for some time, and for the past two weeks he had been confined to the hospital. Michael Keenan was born in Garryowen, Jackson county, Iowa, November 12, 1870. He was the son of Patrick Keenan, a native of Ireland, and Rose Lynch Keenan, of Altoona, Pa. He came to Plymouth county with his parents when he was a boy and he has farmed the same place in Stanton township since 1901, where he has made many friends by his many neighborly qualities and the wholehearted interest he always displayed in the welfare of his community.
