Read More	Boone County Democrat April 14, 1911 Morgan Bricker, another of the earliest residents of Boone county and one of our best known and most highly esteemed citizens, passed peacefully away at the family home near Coal Valley Sunday morning, in his eighty fifth year. He had been in failing health for some time, owing largely to the decline of old age, and his death was not unexpected yet causes sincere sorrow among a wide circle of friends as well as to his family and relatives Morgan Bricker was born in Knox county, Ohio, August 25, 1826. He remained in the east until he reached manhood and came to Boone county in 1855, and had made his home here continuously since, a period of fifty six years. In 1857 he was united in marriage with Miss Catherine Rose, a member of another noted pioneer family of the county, and she, with three sons, D.J., W.C. and O.D. Bricker, and one daughter, Mrs. Blaine Livingston, all reside in or near Moingona, one sister, Mrs. Malinda Graham, of Boone, and one brother in Ohio, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and an innumerable host of friends survive to mourn the death of a noble and devoted husband, father and friend. Mr. Bricker was one of the best known and most successful bee culturists in the county and in his death that industry has sustained a distinct loss. The funeral services were held from the home at 2:00 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Many beautiful floral tributes betokened the loving esteem of all. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Rose Hill cemetery.
