Description	:	Niels Christensen was born on February 7, 1828, in Nøvling, Denmark, the child of Christen Lausten and Maren Christensdatter. In 1849 at age 21 he married Ane Dorthe Madsen and they had one child together. According to the Underwood Centennial book, Niels Larson moved to Hazel Dell Twp in 1874 After Maren died, Niels went to live in the household of his daughter, Annie Johnson, in Boomer Township. There he died, December 8, 1915 at the age of 87, although records and his tombstone inscription give an incorrect death age of 90. (Written on back of family photo) "Grandpa Larson's folks. The little boy is Grandpa Larson. Born in 1825. Taken in Denmark" Niels Larson was born on 7 Feb 1828, not 7 Feb 1825. He was born as Niels Christensen in Visse, Nøvling Sogn, Aalborg Amt, Denmark. (The erroneous 7 Feb 1825 date appears throughout family records. This error, along with his name change, for a long time kept me from finding Niels's roots in Denmark. The correct date was determined in my presence by a researcher at the Danish Immigration Archives in Aalborg who looked at parish records.) Source: Bob Christainsen, November 2011
