AUGUST MILLER Nora Considine was born to Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Considine on May 13th, 1863 at Davenport, Iowa and passed to the great beyond at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, December 16th. Mrs. August Miller had been ill one year and four months from Anemia at her home, where she has been tenderly cared for by kind and affectionate hands. Before her marrige Mrs. Miller was a dressmaker living in Omaha, and Lincoln and came to Seward county in 1871. She owned and operated a Millinery and Dressmaking Store at Staplehurst, Nebraska, coming to Butler county and David City on May 2nd 1893. She was united in marriage to August Miller at Ulysses, Nebraska. To this union were born three daughters and one son, Irene and Frances at home, Mrs. R. W. Litjen of David City, Mr. A. S. Miller of Plattsmouth. Besides the children and husband deceased is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary McGowan and sister Mrs. W. J. Coyle of Ulysses, two brothers P. J. Considine of this city and James Considine of Billings, Montana. Mrs. Miller was a devout Catholic and a member of the C. D. of A. and the Alter Society. Services were held in the St. Marys Church, David City on Saturday. Requiem mass was said at 9:30 by Father Kraemer and Father Sproll preached funeral services at 2:30. Pall bearers were John Lanspa, Frank Birkel, Ed. Dworak, Theo. Brochtrup, B. J. Brochtrup and B. H. Eiting. Those present from out of town at the services were James Considine of Billings, Montana, Mrs. W. J. Coyle and Mrs. Mary McGowan of Ulysses, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Miller of Plattsmouth. Friends in attendance at services were Mrs. O'Meara of Omaha, Mrs. John Kelley and son John of York, Mr. and Mrs. Max Elias of Columbus also Mrs. Mary Nihil of Seward. AUGUST MILLER Mrs. August Miller passed away at her home in David City, Thursday, December 16, 1926, aged 63 years, 7 months, and 3 days. Nora Considine was born at Davenport, Iowa, and when a small child removed with her parents to Lincoln and later to Friend, Nebraska. In 1881 the family came to Ulysses and for several years she operated a millinery store in Staplehurst. She was married to August Miller in 1893. Four children were born to them, Mrs. Mary Litjens, Frances and Irene of David City and Anthony of Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Besides her husband and children she leaves an aged mother, two brothers, one sister and one grand-child, little Billie Litjens. About one year ago she became ill, suffering from pernicians anemia. Although everything possible was done to restore her she gradually failed until the angel of death beckoned her to the fairer world above where sickness and sorrow do not enter. Mrs. Miller was a very devout Catholic and was devoted to her home and loved ones who will cherish her noble example of love, patience under suffering and tender piety. She had the esteem of a wide circle of friends. Her life of unselfish devotion to family and friends was truly edifying. As a testimonial of the high regard entertained for her were the numberous beautiful floral tributes which were shown at the funeral which was held at the Catholic church at David City on Saturday. The Requiem High Mass being celebrated by her pastor, Rev. Father Sproll at 9:30 o'clock in the morning. Owing to the inability of her brother James Considine of Billings Montana to reach David City at the hour designated for the services, the funeral occured at 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon. A very large number of friends were in attendance at both mass and funeral. Interment was made in the David City cemetery. "Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her."
