Read More	Raymond J. “Butch” Norden, age 84 of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio passed away on Monday morning, May 11, 2009 at Henry County Hospital. He was born June 19, 1924 in Malinta, Ohio to the late Karl and Lorena (Gerken) Norden. On July 12, 1953 he married Bernita Hogrefe of Ridgeville Corners and she survives. Butch worked for Fred Gerken Construction of Napoleon, The Zeller Corporation of Defiance in maintenance, retiring in 1987 after being there for 35 years. He graduated from Ridgeville High School in 1943, where he excelled in baseball. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ridgeville Corners, Life member of the Napoleon V.F.W. Post 8218, and former member of the Ridgeville American Legion Post 454. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific from 1943-1945. He is survived by his wife of 55 years; two daughters, Patricia Norden of Perrysburg, Ohio and Jean (Ralph) Knopp of Grand Rapids, Ohio; a son Michael Norden of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio; a sister Norma Thielan of Bryan, Ohio; three grandchildren Tessa Knopp and Erin Knopp, both of Grand Rapids, Ohio and Breanne Ashton of Florida; two great grandchildren Cole Ashton and Caden Ashton, both of Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Norden. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners, Ohio with the Rev. Alvia Martis, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion Post 454. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM in the Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Ridgeville Township Fire & Rescue Department or Zion Lutheran Church Improvement Fund.
