Born in Milhousen, Feb. 17, 1864, she was one of 10 children born to John T.and Josephine (Weldon) Funke.Milhousen, Following their marriage in Milhousen, Nov. 13, 1884, Rebecca Funke and Herman C. Koors came to Tipton county. They were the parents of nine children, four of whom, Bernard, John, Mary and Rose are deceased. For 11 years the family resided in Howard county. Survivors are five children, Mrs. Elizabeth Jung, East Jefferson street, Herman T. Koors, route 2, Mrs. Altherr, route 3, Mrs. Josephine Altherr, Elwood, and Rev. Koors, pastor of St. Francis Xavier church in East Gary. Others are one brother, Theodore Funke, route 2; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Idlewine, Elwood; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
