Robert Allen Bixler had died very suddenly at his home, some miles west of Corning. the gentleman had been suffered a little with neuritis a few days before his death, but the case was not regarded as serious. Dr. Dewing of Aurora, Illinois at the Highland Adventist Church. Mr. Bixler was born in Nodaway township, this county, February 5, 1857, and at the time of his death was aged 64 years and 8 days. He has lived all his days in this community, within a short distance of the place where he first saw the light. On March 17, 1878, Mr. Bixler was married to Miss Helen Strait, who survives him. To them were born the following named children, Sidney A., Corning, Mrs. Helen Eggleston, Murdo, South Dakota, Mrs. Olive Tindall, Tindall, Montana, Mrs. Ruth A. Keepers, Carter, South Dakota, Burr A. L., Live Oak, Florida, Mrs. Florence Brown, Detroit, Michigan, Miss Pearl A. Bixler teacher near Sioux City, Miss Myrtle at home, Robert A., Careyville, Wisconsin, Miss Orrie I. Crecelius, deceased, Mary Edith, who died in infancy. Mr. Bixler is also survived by the following named brothers and sisters, Mrs. e. L. Hoyt and Mrs. Jacob Markley, Corning, John M. Corning, Burr of Tennessee, and Jacob of Dakota. One brother and three sisters preceded Mr. Bixler to the better land. The deceased gentleman was one of the best known and best loved citizens of this community. For many years he has been a minister in the Advent Church and always sought opportunities for doing good. His hearty greeting and pleasant word of encouragement made him a very companionable gentleman to all classes of society and his wide acquaintance in this community gave him an excellent opportunity to have a large influence for the best things in life.
