Born March 28, 1924, at Scio, he was a son of the late Scott and Lura Clark Amos. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Scio Presbyterian Church, Scio American Legion Post 482, a 32nd Degree Mason, a 50-year plus member of Scio Lodge 587 F. & A.M. and a member of Scottish Rite of Steubenville, Ohio Grange and the Knights of Pythias. Born March 28, 1924, at Scio, he was a son of the late Scott and Lura Clark Amos. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Scio Presbyterian Church, Scio American Legion Post 482, a 32nd Degree Mason, a 50-year plus member of Scio Lodge 587 F. & A.M. and a member of Scottish Rite of Steubenville, Ohio Grange and the Knights of Pythias. He was an auctioneer for Scio Auction Co. and for many area antique and estate sales and a livestock dealer and a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sanford Amos, and a sister, Elnore Kotch. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Abbie Shumaker Amos; three sons, R. Clark Amos and his wife, Carol, of St. Louis, Dr. Edward Amos and his wife Carol of Columbus and Marsh E. Amos of Scio; one daughter, Abbie Ann Amos of Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Jody) Snyder of Scio; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Scio Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 17, at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Visser officiating. Masonic services will be held at 1:30 p.m. by Scio Masonic Lodge 587 F. & A.M. Burial will be in Perrysville Cemetery at Perrysville, O. Full military graveside services will be conducted by Scio American Legion Post 482. Memorial contributions may be made to Scio Presbyterian Church, Eastport St., Scio 43988. Arrangements were made by Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 E. Market St., Cadiz.
