Mrs. Boyd worked 38 years for the state of Kansas before she retired from the Department of Revenue. She was born July 7, 1911 in Jackson County, the daughter of John William and Ida Mae Jones Ely. She was graduated from Wetmore High School. She had lived in Topeka since 1937. Mrs. Boyd was a member of First United Methodist Church in Topeka, YOMAC Sunday school class and had been active in the Annual Church Thrift Sale. She married Richard Ronald Haflich. He died in 1973. She later married Hilton Boyd. He died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Ronna Sue Vincent, Topeka, and Jo Ann H. Martin, Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Lenna Lynn, Keizer, Ore.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Klasse Chapel at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd will lie in state after noon Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 S.W. 7th, Topeka 66606, or to First United Methodist Church, 600 S.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka 66603.
