Wednesday afternoon while Mrs. William Yeager, of Newton Falls, was working in her Kitchen she set a boiler full of hot water on the floor near the stove. This story was in the Carroll Republican, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, February 14, 1895. Wednesday afternoon while Mrs. William Yeager, of Newton Falls, was working in her Kitchen she set a boiler full of hot water on the floor near the stove. A moment her three year old son, who was playing in the room, in some unaccountable manner fell head-long into the boiling water and was scalded from head to foot. When the mother got him out and at tempted to undress him the flesh dropped off of his body and limbs. He cannot live and his mother is crazed with grief. (NOTE--I cannot prove at this time if the were talking about this William Yeager family or another.} Her obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, December 23, 1937. Mrs. Annie Yeager, 85, died early Saturday following a short illness. She was a life resident of Harlem Springs community, a member of the M. E. Church and the widow of Henry Yeager. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the church. Rev. R. J. Smith officiated, and burial was made in the local cemetery. Surviving are three sons, Edward of the home, Howard and Homer of near Carrollton; 10 grandchildren and two brothers, Wesley McConnell of Harlem Springs and Howard McConnell of Alliance.
