Thomas Brooks Coffy, 83, of Rt. 3, Carrollton, died January 24, in the Carroll Rest Home. He had been ill since last November 30, and died of complications. Born August 23, 1878, in Orange Township, he was a son of the late William and Rebecca (Brooks) Coffy, and had resided his entire life in Carroll County. A retired farmer, Mr. Coffy was a member of Palermo Methodist Church. He was married January 12, 1901, to Clara (Dilley) Coffy. She preceded him in death June 9, 1951. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Olive Dunlap of Rt. 3, Carrollton. He also was preceded in death by a son, Roy, two years ago and a brother and two sisters. Services were Saturday in the Allmon Funeral Home here with Rev. Frank Kelley and Rev. Charles Tulga officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery at Palermo.
