Description	:	Verna Mae Sell, age 92 years, died Aug. 19, 1991 at Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron. She was born on a farm near Chester on Oct. 6, 1898, the daughter of Stephen R. and Mary E. Miller Walker. Verna attended Loyalty School Dist. #73 and graduated from Chester High school in 1917. After teaching school two years, she married John C. Sell on June 4, 1919. Read More	Verna Mae Sell, age 92 years, died Aug. 19, 1991 at Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron. She was born on a farm near Chester on Oct. 6, 1898, the daughter of Stephen R. and Mary E. Miller Walker. Verna attended Loyalty School Dist. #73 and graduated from Chester High school in 1917. After teaching school two years, she married John C. Sell on June 4, 1919. To this union three children were born, Nadine Mae who died in infancy, Jack Vernon and Donna Lee. Verna assisted her husband at their drugstore, Sell Pharmacy, for nearly 50 years. She has been a member of the Chester Church of Christ since she was 10 years old. She was a Sunday School teacher, sponsor of Junior Christian Endeavor, deaconess and was active in Missionary and Aid Society meetings. Her brothers, Robert and Glen; and sister, Myrtle Tietsort, preceded her in death. Survivors are her children, Jack Sell of Chester, Donna and Jim Burroughts of Richland, Wash.; grandchildren, Joy and Peter Schulz of Beclin, Germany, Jill and Charles Penney of Fairbanks, Alaska; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jordan Lisa Penny and Jock Schulz; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Walker and Hazel Sell; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Chester, conducted by Pastor John Fernandez. Kenneth Hoge, soloist, was accompanied by Frieda Truss, organist. Casket bearers were David Sell, Stuart Sell, Harold Crouse, Don Kasl, Karis Kuhlmann and Charles Vieselmeyer. Honorary casket bearers were Allen Walker, John Walker, Wilbert Crouse, Harold Porter, Elmer Flathman, Herman Dageforde, Wilford Wegener and Arno Sell. Interment was in the Chester cemetery (sic). Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
