Mrs. Briggs was a member of St. Bonaventure church and St. Ann's Society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. H. D. (Esther) Mitchell of Pacific Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Douglas (Marian) McLean of Oakland, Calif.; three sons, Leonard Briggs of Fremont and Milton Briggs and Louis Briggs of Columbus; two brothers, Edward Savage of Hayward, Calif., and Stanley Savage of Berkley, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lou (Josie) Vanderheiden of Grand Island and Mrs. Ann Hooven of New York, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Her husband, a son, Edwin Briggs of Columbus; three brothers, Jim, Jack and Joe Savage and a sister, Katherine Koziol, preceded her in death. +++++++++++++ Note: Victoria was actually born across the river south from Duncan/Silver Creek in Polk County. The family had bought a farm there. She was baptized at St. Stanislaus church in Duncan, Nebraska under the name "Viktoria Szawica". Their records record her born 22 December 1987 and baptized January 6, 1888. Her godparents were Anton Koziol and Katherine Siemek.
