Description	:	Wilford Raymond Porter was born August 13, 1908 in Johnson County, Nebraska, the son of Wilford and Aley Porter. He passed away on August 27, 1971 at his home near Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 63. On October 31, 1931 he was married to Floy Honeycutt at the home of her parents. They had one son, Ronald. He became a member of the Nelson United Presbyterian Church on January... Read More	Wilford Raymond Porter was born August 13, 1908 in Johnson County, Nebraska, the son of Wilford and Aley Porter. He passed away on August 27, 1971 at his home near Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 63. On October 31, 1931 he was married to Floy Honeycutt at the home of her parents. They had one son, Ronald. When Mr. Porter was 6 months old, he moved to Nuckolls County with the family and lived here all his life. He has engaged in farming near Nelson. He became a member of the Nelson United Presbyterian Church on January 25, 1925. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son, Ronald of Nelson; 4 grandchildren, Peggy, Doug, Randy and Richard; one brother, O.P. Porter of Nelson and three sisters, Mrs. Ed Troudt of Nelson, Mrs. Guy Bruce of Nelson and Mrs. Ralph McKevitt of Superior. Funeral services were held Monday, August 30, 1971 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church at Nelson, Nebraska. Rev. Victor Schwarz officiated. Casket bearers were John Oltman, Ivan Jacobitz, Don Follmer, Arthur Haidsiak, Lewis Keim and Paul Knehans. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska. Masonic Rites by Nelson Lodge No. 77. Arrangements by Klawitter Funeral Home, Nelson. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, September 2, 1971
