CORNWELL HELD FRIDAY Rites at Family Home for Pioneer Whose Death Occurred January 7 Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the family home for W. F. Cornwell whose death occurred January 7. The services were conducted by Rev. Carl Wells whose words of cheer and beautiful sermon were a comfort to the bereaved ones. Mrs. H. D. Rosenbaum, Mrs. Carl Wells and Miss Eva Randles sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee," "Safe In the Arms of Jesus," and "In the Sweet By and By." The pallbearers were Harold Rosenbaum, Harold Dufoe, Clair Reynoldson, Neil Carder, Wm. Renken, and Albert Redler. Interment was in the Cornwell family lot in Rose Hill cemetery. A good man has gone to his reward, and a dear husband and father will be sadly missed. Many beautiful floral offerings were sent by friends. William Frederick Cornwell was born in Cleveland, Ohio, July 21, 1872 and died in St. Edward, Nebraska, January 7, 1941, aged 68 years, five months and 17 days. His parents were William Covil Cornwell and Elizabeth Reynoldson Cornwell, both of whom were born in England. The first fourteen years of his life were spent in Cleveland and he received his education in the Cleveland schools. In 1886 the family came to Boone county, Nebraska, and settled on the farm which has since been the family home, and here he was residing when stricken with the illness which proved fatal. On March 30, 1899, he was married to Maud L. McBride at Pinnacle Hill. Five children blessed their lives, William Cecil, Walter Frederick, Benjamin McBride, Rayburn Marcus and Nellie (Mrs. Fred Sebastian.) All reside in Boone county except Ben who lives in New London, Penn., and came for the funeral. Parents never had a better son than William Cornwell. He was a kind and loving husband and father, always putting the welfare of his loved ones before his own interests. As a friend and neighbor, the esteem in which he was held in the neighborhood, speaks for itself. He is survived by his wife and five children and fifteen grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives mourn his passing. His parents, sister and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
