B. and Mrs. Anna (Nivin) Tope, was born 33 years ago in Union Twp., where he lived until two years ago, last January, when he and his wife purchased, and moved to a farm three miles south of Leetonia. About ten days prior to his death he and his wife contracted influenza, which in his case developed into pneumonia, causing his death on Sunday afternoon. The night prior to his death, there was born to Mr. and Mrs. Tope, a son. Both mother and child doing well. Mr. Tope was a successful breeder of poultry and hogs, and was working part time for the Crescent Mfg. Co., in Leetonia. He was united in wedlock with Ruth McIntire, June 19, 1915, who with his mother and three sisters, Mrs. Ross Miller and Gertrude Tope, of Union Twp., and Mrs. James Potts, of Uhrichville, survives. Mr. Tope was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, of Leetonia, holding the office of Sunday school superintendent. He was for several years secretary, and later president of the Christian Endeavor work in Carroll County. Religious service was held in the home of his pastor, Rev. Stewart, and the remains brought to Carrollton, and burial was made in the Harlem Springs Cemetery on Tuesday, Rev. A. T. Wooley officiating.
