William I. Capper, a veteran of the Civil War, died in the home of his nephew, Garfield Capper, in Perry Twp., January 2, aged 75 years. He was a son of David and Mary (Elliott) Capper, and had 9 brothers and sisters, also 9 half brothers and sisters. Mrs. Amanda Deets, of Perrysville, is the sole surviving member of this family. He was married in December, 1870 to Martha M. Shannon, who died November 4, 1908. He was of a quiet, home-loving disposition, a faithful friend and always considerate of the welfare of those about him. Burial Tuesday forenoon at Mt. Tabor cemetery, Rev. N. E. Hewitt, of Palermo, officiating.
