Read More	HOLD RITES FOR AKRON RESIDENT LAST SATURDAY Mrs. Adina Hultgren Was A Lifelong Area Resident Mrs. Adina Hultgren, a life-long and revered resident of this community, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 1965, at the Akron Hospital following an illness of about three months, aged 75 years, 9 months and l2; days. Adina Wilhelmina Ericson was born November 13, 1889, in Sioux Valley Township, Union County, S.D., to Mr. and Mrs. Olof Ericson, pioneer residents there. She was baptized in Union Creek Lutheran church and confirmed in this church September 27, 1903, remaining an active member all her life. In young womanhood she taught in the Sunday school and was a member of the Union Creek orchestra during its existence. She was treasurer of the Ladies' Aid for a number of years and served on the Union Creek cemetery board. On June 6, 1911, she was united in marriage with Elmer Hultgren, and two daughters and three sons came to bless their union. They lived on a farm in Union county until retiring and moving to Akron in 1948. Her husband preceded her in death here in March. 1955. Deep loyalty to her church and interested and active participation in its various phases bears clear witness to her Christian faith. A fine interest in her family and in her many friends were also outstanding characteristics. Among those who survive to mourn her departure are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Heeren, of Akron, and Mrs. Marian Sykes, of Milford, Iowa; three sons, Kenneth, of Akron, and Russell and Earl of Ida Grove, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Louise Harker, of Hawarden, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Union Creek Lutheran church, Rev. David J. Roy officiating. Mrs. Lillian Jacobs was vocalist and Mrs. Henry Fickbohm was organist. Casket bearers were Ray Ericson, Eldon Seely, Arnold Sommervold, Lloyd Miller, Arnold Helseth and Chris Lucht. Interment was in Union Creek cemetery.
