Description	:	Tipton lost one of its best loved women Tuesday evening, when the death of Mrs. Alice Dooley, widow of the late William L. Dooley, veteran Nickel Plate passenger engineer, took place at the family home on North Conde street. Death Occurred at 7 o'clock. Mrs. Dooley had not been in good health for several months and spent some time at Martinsville, but failed to gain any relief. Heart complications were the cause of her death. Funeral services for this splendid woman are to be held at the St. John's Catholic church Friday morning at 9 o'clock, with Rev. F. Jos. Bilstein in charge and burial will be in St. John's cemetery. The death of Mrs. Dooley who had been a resident of Tipton since 1893, when the division of the old Lake Erie was removed here from Lafayette, is a shock to the many friends who had loved her through the years. Mrs. Dooley was a fine woman, a mother devoted to her family and friends and a devout Christian, having her membership in the St. John's Catholic church. She was born at Alburg, VT., July 28, 1852, her parents later removing to Iowa and she was married at Council Bluffs on February 26, 1870, to William L. Dooley. The husband died in August of 1918, at the time having retired from engine service with the railroad, he served so long. Mrs. Dooley is survived by four children, two having preceded the mother to the grave. The surviving children are Mrs. J.A. Murphy of Wabash; Mrs. Theodore Hertle of Elwood; and Mrs. Alice Kigin, widow of Dr. T.F. Kigin; and Mrs. Nina B. Smith, widow of Harry A. Smith, the latter at this time being City Clerk of Tipton. She is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. W.S. Robinson of Garden City, Kansas; Mrs. Wendell Brown, of Ayr, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Leary of Kansas City, MO; Mrs. Edna Giltner of Chicago; and Mrs. Jennie O'Brien of Muncie. She is also survived by twelve grandchildre;, one, Miss Alice Murphy, a registered nurse, having been at the bedside of Mrs. Dooley during her illness.
