Death was due to an injury sustained in a fall at the home of her sisters near Kilgore. She was born in the vicinity of Kilgore December 24, 1855, the daughter of John Perry and Elizabeth (Albaugh) Roof. May 29, 1906, she was united in marriage to John Shultz of New Rumley, Ohio, who died March 10, 1939. Besides her husband, her sister Jane preceded her in death. Her stepchildren are Charles of Tampa, Florida, Ward of Canton, Ohio, Melvin of Jewett, Ohio, Ross of Scio, Ohio and Frank of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by two brothers, John and Elmer Roof; two sisters Alice and Margaret, all of whom live in the vicinity of Kilgore and a sister, Mary Gibson of Amsterdam, besides many nieces and nephews. She united with the Methodist Church at Kilgore in early life, was active in church work, being one of the first organists in church services and Sunday School. After her marriage she moved her membership to the United Brethren Church of Canton, Ohio of which her husband was a member. She was a resident of Canton 34 years. Funeral services were held in the Sweeney Funeral Home at Carrollton Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. B. J. Yorke officiating. Interment was made in the Methodist Cemetery at Kilgore.
