She was baptized at home on March 11, 1911 by the Rev. G.A. Spring of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Stoddard. She received her elementary education at Chester District No. 96. Vorderstrasse on May 1, 1930 at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Deshler by the Rev. L.H. Jagels. To this union four daughters were born, Lorene, Betty, Marilyn and Elaine. She lived in the Thayer county (sic) area her entire life, moving to Chester in 1946. She became a resident of Parkview Haven in August of 1987 where she resided until her death. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Chester and the Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one great-grandson, five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by four daughters, Lorene Jagels and her husband Ray of Plainview, Betty Poppe and her husband Alvin of Chester, Marilyn Schroeder and her husband Elwin of Utica, Mich. and Elaine Monter and her husband Marvin of Arapahoe; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church of Chester conducted by Pastor William Larsen. Ray Jagels was organist and Elwin Schroeder was soloist. Casket bearers were Dan Poppe, Tim Monter, Steve Poppe, Mark Schroeder, Brent Monter, Kurt Jagels, Kent Schroeder and Craig Jagels.
