Read More	Obit in The Correctionville News, 3 August 1939, page 1: Life came to a close Sunday evening for Mrs. Fritz Roggatz, 68, who had been an invalid for many months following a paralytic stroke. Her husband with the assistance of her children cared for her every want and at times felt hopeful that the loving wife and mother might be restored to at least partial health. She was the daughter of Carl and Pauline Burow and was born in Germany in 1871. She was united in marriage to Fritz Roggatz in 1893. In the year 1894 the couple left their native land to come to America. They settled near Battle Creek and made that their home for fourteen years. They moved to the Correctionville community in 1908 and for 31 years the home was made here. The deceased was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Midway for 45 years. She is survived by her husband, Fritz Roggatz, six daughters, Mrs. Minnie Sands, Mrs. Alvena Kirchner, Mrs. Martha Handke and Mrs. Edna Wright of Correctionville, Mrs. Annie Sands of Danbury and Mrs. Mathilda Sands of Dunlap, Iowa; three sons, Walter of Montevideo, Minnesota, Herman and Carl of Correctionville, 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; four brothers, Fred A. Burow of Cushing, Frank and Herman Burow of Battle Creek and William Burow of Backus, Minnesota, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Strackbein of Battle Creek and Mrs. Minnie Bottjen of Moville. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the home and at 9 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church at Midway with her pastor, Rev. C.F. Gottberg, officiating. Interment was made in Midway Cemetery under direction of Wikert Funeral Home of Correctionville. Pallbearers were Paul Paulson, Arnold Strackbein, Charles Schmidt, Louie Schmidt, Frank Weidemann, and Louie Bollmeyer.
