Mrs. Strackbein was born November 7, 1882, in Germany. She came to the United Sttes as a child and resided in Midway and Battle Creek rural communities. She married John G. Read More	The Anthon Herald, 16 May 1962, page 1: Mrs. Ida Wilhelmine Strackbein, 79, who resided the last 55 years on a farm east of Anthon and northwest of Battle Creek, died Monday at the Battle Creek hospital. Mrs. Strackbein was born November 7, 1882, in Germany. She came to the United Sttes as a child and resided in Midway and Battle Creek rural communities. She married John G. Strackbein on February 18, 1903. He died in 1936. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and one granddaughter. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Midway for 65 years. Survivors are two sons, William and Albert both of Battle Creek, a daughter, Mrs. Albert Sands of Anthon, a brother, Herman Burow of Cushing, a sister, Mrs. George Bottjen of Remsen and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. David R. Meyer officiating. Burial was in Midway Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home of Anthon.
