Both were Cotner students. ================================ Mrs. Bessie Adams Dry, wife of Rev. Lawrence Dry of Mitchell, passed away in the Scottsbluff Hospital early Sunday morning, Dec. 31, at the age of 86 years, four months and 15 days. She was born Aug. 16, 1892 in Chester, Nebr., the daughter of John and Julia Edwards Adams, and received her early education in the Chester school, graduating from the Chester High School in 1913. She attended Cotner College in Lincoln, Nebr., and on June 9, 1915 married Rev. Lawrence Dry in Bethany, Nebr. They made their first home in Peru, Nebr. and then moved to Lincoln. In 1919 they moved to New Haven, Conn., where Rev. Dry attended Yale Divinity School and Mrs. Dry was allowed to monitor the classes. In 1922 they moved to Waterbury, Conn., and in 1927 to Mitchell where she has since resided. She was a member of the Federated Churches of Mitchell and was very active in the various women's organizations of the church and also of the city. Surviving is her husband, Rev. Lawrence Dry of Mitchell; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Snider of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. William C. (Elizabeth) Brown of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, John Adams of Chester, Nebr.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Benjamin Adams. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. in the Federated Church in Mitchell with Rev. Carlyle Smith officiating. Graveside services were held Friday morning, Jan. 5, at 10 o'clock in the Chester Cemetery with the Jones Mortuary in charge of arrangements. A memorial to the Federated Church of Mitchell has been established.
