Mrs. Carrie Hollingshead of Kilgore passed away at Carroll Nursing Home, Carrollton, on Tuesday afternoon after an illness of four months. She had been a patient there since September 9. She was born in Knox, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George and Frances (Wetzel) Wile. She had lived in Kilgore three years coming there from Columbus, where she had lived 40 years. Prior to that she had resided in Scio, where she was a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of Scio Presbyterian Church and Scio Order of the Eastern Star. She was married April 10, 1922, to Walter L. Hollingshead, who died June 20. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Denny of Carrollton, Mrs. Minnie Fawcett and Mrs. Robert Slates, both of Kilgore; two brothers, Charles Wile of Tampa, Florida and Harry Wile of Warren. Two brothers, Frank and Laird, are deceased. Services will be held at Allmon Funeral Home, Carrollton, at 2 p.m. Friday in charge of Rev. Paul H. Sells. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
