Read More	OBITUARY AND ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ABOUT DONALD KENNEDY OBITUARY: Donald Dean Kennedy was born in 1919, to Ernest and Arminta Kennedy in Kansas. He passed from this life Jan. 25, 1966, at age 46. He spent most of his childhood around Dentonia, Kansas. He was married to Dorothy Sanderson on May 18, 1947. To this union four children were born: Ronald, 18; Lyle, 13; Pamela, 7; and Keith Paul having died in infancy July 16, 1951. Donald served his country during World War II, then moved to near Villisca, Iowa, in 1953, moving to Tabor, Iowa, in 1958. He joined the church in early childhood. Besides Keith Paul, he was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lyle, James and Forrest. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Ronald and Lyle; one daughter, Pamela; five brothers, Dr. Charles of Paso Robles, California, David of Esbon, Kansas, Kenneth of Lebanon, Kansas, Byron of Superior, Wisconsin, and Morris of St. Paul, Minnisota; four sisters, Georgia Obert of Lebanon, Kansas, Frances Obert of Red Cloud, Nebraska, Jessie Muck of Marian, Kansas, and Vivian Ost of Mankato, Kansas; also a large number of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Esbon E. U. B. Church, Jan. 29, 1966, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd Swindler and Rev. DeWitt Miller officiating. Music was furnished by Earl Silsby and Carol Kindler. Casket bearers were Bruce Corrick, Ted Thummel, Vernon Mechsner, Kenneth Dodd, Bernard Regan and Carl Sapp. Graveside services at the Prairie Home Cemetery near Esbon, Kansas were conducted by Perry A. Lamb of American Legion Post No. 368. (Newspaper and date of the obituary clipping were not recorded. Adapted here to exclude the specific date and place of birth.) ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Don was the 12th of 13 children of Minta and Ern Kennedy. Like all his siblings, he attended the rural one-room Lone Tree School through the 8th grade. During World War II, Don served in the U.S. Army engineers in the area of Australia. He returned to the Esbon, Kansas area after the war and later worked on farms near Villisca and Tabor, Iowa.
