Description	:	MILLER, EFFA ALICE—Effa Alice, daughter of Jonas B. and Mary Titus Miller, was born in Chelsea township on August 9, 1883, and passed from this life in Fillmore County hospital, in Geneva, on March 30, 1974, at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 21 days. She lived in the Geneva vicinity all of her life, receiving her education in the Chelsea country school. Read More	MILLER, EFFA ALICE—Effa Alice, daughter of Jonas B. and Mary Titus Miller, was born in Chelsea township on August 9, 1883, and passed from this life in Fillmore County hospital, in Geneva, on March 30, 1974, at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 21 days. She lived in the Geneva vicinity all of her life, receiving her education in the Chelsea country school. She was converted to Christianity early in life, and was baptized and joined the Chelsea United Brethren church. She was a faithful member of this church until she moved with her sisters, Viola and Maude, to their home in Geneva. She then transferred her membership to the Geneva Evangelical United Brethren church. She was an active, faithful and tireless worker in the activities of these churches. However, because of failing health, she was not able to take an active part in the life of the United Methodist church, after the union of these two churches. As one of the older members of a pioneer family of 12 children, she experienced the hardships, responsibilities and joys of this very close-knit family. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and four brothers. She leaves to mourn her passing, three sisters, Miss Maude Miller, Mrs. Fred (Alma) Fox, and Mrs. Nora Heath all of the Geneva community; as well as many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at Farmer-Harris funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 1974, with Rev. John E. Stayton officiating. Mrs. O. E. Nelson sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Abide with Me,” accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Olson. Pallbearers were Max Dowdy, Chester Marotz, Lowell Heath, Charles Miller, Tom Koehn and Irvin Miller.
