Description	:	FOX, ALMA ALTA—Alma Alta Miller was born to Jonas B. and Mary Titus Miller on April 14, 1896, at Geneva, Nebraska and passed away on August 26, 1981, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, at the age of 85 years, four months and 12 days. Alma was the eleventh child in a family of twelve. After graduating from Geneva high school with the class of 1914, she taught school one year in District 65, Chelsea township. Read More	FOX, ALMA ALTA—Alma Alta Miller was born to Jonas B. and Mary Titus Miller on April 14, 1896, at Geneva, Nebraska and passed away on August 26, 1981, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln, at the age of 85 years, four months and 12 days. Alma was the eleventh child in a family of twelve. After graduating from Geneva high school with the class of 1914, she taught school one year in District 65, Chelsea township. Alma was married to Fred fox at the home of her parents on October 6, 1915. They began their married life on Fred’s family farm and resided there until their retirement to their home in Geneva seven years ago. They celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary October 6, 1979. Over the years Fred and Alma opened their home to three boys who were in need of a loving home. They were John Westbrook, Raymond Sobotka and Lawrence Steffgan. Alma remained interested in the lives and careers of the boys through the years. Even though Fred and Alma had no children of their own, they took a special interest in many, many children of the community. She taught many young people in Sunday school classes at Chelsea church and later at the United Methodist church. She was active in United Methodist Women and Chelsea Extension club. Alma spread joy on many happy occasions by her creative artistry with cakes. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and ten of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister, Maude Miller, nieces, nephews and many friends. Services were held at the United Methodist church, Saturday, August 29, with the Rev. Jay Funk and the Rev. Alden B. Sears officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Norval Lomax, organist and Delwin V. Myers, vocalist. Pallbearers were Gary Anderson, Howard Melton, Clarence A. Nun, Jr., Darrel Hughes, John Nelson and Fred Votipka. Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 3 September 1981
