Read More	BUTTERBAUGH, CORA MAY—Cora May, daughter of Jonas and May Elizabeth Miller, was born September 27, 1878, at Roan, Ind. She departed this life at the Geneva General hospital April 9, 1948 at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to David J. Butterbaugh, August 10, 1905, and to this union were born two children, one son and one daughter. They established their home in north central Indiana, and remained there until the death of Mr. Butterbaugh, which occurred May 27, 1919, at North Manchester, Ind. Following this sad experience, Mrs. Butterbaugh and her two children came to Geneva, Neb., where she could be near her parents. She had made her home in this vicinity since that time. Mrs. Butterbaugh embraced the Christian faith early in life and found it the source of strength that enabled her to press on during the severe trial in the loss of her husband and the needed wisdom of rearing her children alone. This faith sustained in the closing days of life and when the ministry and sacraments of her church were presented, she declared anew the joy and welcome of the summons which she knew awaited her. She was a member of the Bethel church of the Brethren, near Carleton. While she had been normally active until the last three weeks, her health had been failing for a number of years. In spite of this she carried on cheerfully and helpfully, having as the central interest of her life her grandchildren whom she loved passionately. She met death peacefully at dawn Friday to greet a new day with the Savior she loved. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Velma Butterbaugh Hofferber of Geneva and Darrel J. Butterbaugh of Philadelphia, Pa., five grandchildren, Carolyn and Jimmy Hofferber and Nancy, Janet and Pamela Butterbaugh. There are four brothers: Alvah, Johnnie, Roy and Wilson Miller, all of Geneva; five sisters, Leah Ralston of Nevada, Mo., Effie and Maude Miller, Alma Fox and Nora Heath of Geneva. Beside these there are a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and a wide circle of friends. Two sisters preceded her in death. The funeral service was held from the Hrubesky Funeral home in Geneva at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon and was in the charge of Rev. J. F. Baldwin of the Church of the Brethren of Lincoln. Mrs. Chan Hrubesky and Maude V. Mann were the ministers of music and friends of the Bethel church were pallbearers. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal April 15th, 1948 page 1.
