Funeral services of Elmer Brown, who died at his farm home near Aurora Saturday at 12:30pm, were held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. James B. Brown of the Federated church was in charge. Interment was in Aurora cemetery. Pall bearers were T.M. Scott, S.L. Chapman, E.L. Kemper, Frank Boyland, Frank Davies and F.C. Rundle. Mrs. Leota Stevens sang, accompanied by Miss Effie Swanson. Mr. Brown had been in poor health for several years, and was in serious condition several weeks prior to his death. Nephritis and chronic mio carditis were the principal causes of death. Elmer Brown was born December 12, 1867 in Missouri, to Henry and Annie Brown. On October 17, 1900 he was united in marriage to Grace Dillie. The marriage took place at Omaha, Nebraska. He brought his bride to this farm home west of Aurora where he had lived since about 1890. Three children were born in this home, two of whom, Mabel and Arthur, survive their parents. One son died at the age of seven months. Mr. Brown with his wife and two children were members of the Aurora Congregational church. In 1932 he was elected a deacon in the church, which office he held for three years. His wife died in 1930. He leaves besides his two children, two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Englebright of Hastings, and Mrs. Ida Weston of Grand Island; and one brother, N.S. Brown of Aurora. For several years his health has been failing and during the past few months he has needed constant care.
