Burial at 2 p.m. at the Wayside Cemetery, Frederick. Toody died Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Elvera Erna Schlosser was born July 10, 1925, at Madison, Minn., to William and Anna (Schmaal) Schlosser. The family moved to Frederick, S.D. where they farmed for many years and later moved to Barnard, S.D. She graduated from Barnard High School and taught school for two years in Richland Township. On June 19, 1945, she married Ray Hoss at Aberdeen. She worked for the Coop "Big Store" and the Frederick School lunch program. In 1972 they moved to Aberdeen where she worked as a supply technician at St. Luke's Hospital for 22 years. She retired in 1994 when her husband became ill. Ray died on Oct. 21, 1996, at Aberdeen. Toody was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, RSVP and the Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and helping all of her children. Grateful for having shared Toody's life are three daughters, Sandra Maier, Aberdeen, Pat (Bob) Reiner, Waubay, S.D., Kathy (Rod) Barr, Aberdeen; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Maier, Ron (Aliesha) Reiner, Ryan (Tiffany) Barr, Kevin Barr and Shelley Heitland, and Rory (Laura) Reiner; six great-grandchildren, Preston Barr, Greta Maier, Blake Reiner, Spencer Barr, Cale Reiner and Hannah Reiner; and sisters, Marie Watkins, Mound, Minn., Erma Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn. and Lois (Bill) Bartus, Greeley, Colo. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, two grandsons, Stewart Barr and Rob Reiner, two brothers, Edwin and Rudolph Schlosser and sister, Elda Schmaal. Casket bearers will be Ron Reiner, Ryan Barr, Kevin Barr, Rory Reiner, Elizabeth Maier, Rod Barr and Bob Reiner. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/22/2006.
