Description	:	Evelyn Mae Grandy, born Evelyn Nelson on February 13, 1921, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2008 at the Avaion Convalescent Center in Othello, Wa. She had been living near her daughter Cydney Mansfield for the past two years in Othello, Wa. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ben R. It was a matter of family pride that Evie, Katie and Buck all shared the same birth date. She leaves behind her beloved children, Benjamin R. Grandy, Jr., of Boise, Idaho; Michael Grandy, of Manassas, Va.; Boyd Grandy, of Oswego, N.Y.; Cydney Mansfield, of Othello, Wa.; and Robert Grandy, of French Town, Mont., and their families which include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a long time resident of Chelan, Wa., and lived for many years on the old Boyd Ranch in the Boyd district with her husband and family. Evelyn greatly enjoyed playing bridge and golf with her friends and family, taking the occasional trip up Lake Chelan to fish. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 11 am at the Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan, with Rev. Frank Needles officiating. Although no Grandy lives in the Chelan Valley now, the family considers Chelan as their hometown with a tradition generations long. Everyone is invited to come and help us celebrate her life as we say goodbye to the wonderful strong woman known by most as just "Evie". Services are under direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
