Courtney, 79, of 2423 25th St. NE, Canton, formerly of Carrollton, died Monday at Timken Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born October 25, 1907 in Carrollton, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Noble) Boyd, and had moved to Canton from Carrollton in 1946. She was a member of Harsh Memorial United Methodist Church at Harlem Springs and the Northeast Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons in Canton. She was a former employee of the former Surety Rubber Co. in Carrollton and was married October 19, 1941 to Howard Courtney, who survives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Jennie Gween. Private funeral services were held this Wednesday at Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Bryant. Burial was in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
