Mrs. Savilla (Jennie) Gween, 84, of 556 North High Street, Carrollton died Friday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry (Ada) Baker, in Canton following a lengthy illness. She was born February 9, 1899 in Lee Twp., a daughter of the late John and Mary (Noble) Boyd. She was a lifetime resident of Carroll County and was a member of Grace Independent Baptist Church. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Edward (Mona) Saltsman of Massillon; two sons, Robert of Carrollton and Kenneth of Minerva; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Florence) Courtney of Canton; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was married December 22, 1921 to Dewey Gween, who died January 27, 1966. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home with Rev. Robert D. Campbell officiating.
